RCIA The Journey

RCIA, the Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults

RCIA is one of the most transformative opportunies for individuals entering the Catholic Church as well as for "Cradle Catholics" who wish to refresh their faith.

For many of us, there are times when we are "just going through the motions" with regards to our life and our faith.  If you find yourself searching for something more... for the meaning of our existence...for..(you fill in the blank), consider participating in RCIA.  Whether you just want to see what Catholics believe or if you are a lifelong Catholic who wants to be sure you understand what the Catholic Church teaches, there is a place for you in RCIA.  On this journey not only will you learn about the Catholic faith, you will have the opportunity to develop a deeper relationship with our Lord and in doing so, find meaning for your life and find the Savior that desires you to be with Him forever.

This journey is an opportunity to inquire about Catholic beliefs.

Each person's journey is their own and participation during our weekly gatherings does not obligate you to enter the Catholic faith.

We gather weekly on Thursday evenings (7:00-9:00pm) beginning in September. Please do not wait until then to contact us!  We have several opportunities available for you no matter when you contact us!

These sessions are open to:

  • Those inquiring about the Catholic faith - raised in another faith, or no faith background at all.
  • Those who have been baptized Catholic but require the sacraments of Confirmation and Holy Eucharist.
  • Those who have been baptized Catholic and wish to refresh their understanding of their Catholic faith.

Those on this spiritual journey of inquiry have the opportunity, should they choose, to come into full communion with the Catholic Church during the Easter Vigil Mass, Easter Saturday evening.  At this time the catechumens and candidates, who have chosen this faith are welcomed into the Catholic Church through the sacraments of Baptism, Confirmation and Holy Eucharist.

Those wishing to begin the RCIA journey or just interested in finding out more information, should contact Michele Blate at 330.499.2201 ext. 108 to discuss the process, the program, and have a brief interview in order to personalize the journey. No two journey's are alike.

We welcome all those who are interested in becoming Catholic or just interested in understanding the beliefs and teaching of the Catholic Church to consider learning more about the RCIA program at St. Paul Church!
