Fr. Simon Mino, Parochial Vicar
He is the son of Martin and Bernadeta Mino and his home parish is St. Joseph the Worker, Breznica, Slovakia. He has a married brother, Martin.
He attended II Elementary School (10-13) in Stropkov, Slovakia; Electrician Vocational School (10-13) in Stropkov, Slovakia; and St. Charles Borromeo Seminary in Košice, Slovakia.
“My dream of priesthood started during my early days,” Fr. Mino said. “I pretended to celebrate Mass and hear confessions of my brother and parents. For the duration of high school, my desire to become a priest developed much stronger.”
His grandmother was a key influence on his vocation. “I was strongly influenced by my grandmother, who taught me the faith. I accompanied her to the Mass all the time and she talked to me about vocations,’ Fr. Mino said.
“I grew up in a small village is Slovakia. My whole childhood I spent in Stropkov-Sitník nearby the Polish border. My village has approximately 350 people and all of them are Catholics and devoted to the Church, including my own family,” he said. “My parents and I have always gone to the Church no matter what.”
“Throughout my childhood, I pretended to celebrate the Mass and my dream to become a priest grew stronger. I found old missals written in old Slavonic language in the attic of my house. I partly understood that language, but I said the Mass. My brother and cousins used to be my servers and lectors,” he said.
“We not only had fun but also grew in faith together. Until now, we are still close to each other and keep in touch,”
Fr. Mino treasures his journey to the priesthood. “The journey has been difficult and yet beautiful,” he said. “It has been a lot about persevering in that some barriers stood in my way. But daily prayer and adoration helped to get through complicated times.”

Michelle May, Office Manager
No matter where I go, God always provides. During high school I was active in the St. Paul Youth Group and as a young adult was involved with the SEARCH retreat program. It was there (at St. Paul) on a SEARCH retreat where I met my husband, Tim, now married 31 years. I have been working for the Catholic Church for over 25 years as a Youth Minister, Campus Minister, Director of Children’s Faith Formation and Sacraments and currently as Office Manager. Whatever was, and is, happening in my life, God always draws me back to him and calls me to serve the church. It’s been a blessing to work with so many faith-filled people who remind me of God’s love and mercy. Tim and I lived in Louisville Kentucky for 10 years and started our family Alex and daughter-in-law Helen, Allison and Luke. I love to spend time with family and friends, traveling, music, theater, sports and live reality games. I serve as a Board Member for Loyola Retreat House in Clinton, Ohio. My favorite scripture verse is Micah 6:8 as I am reminded to act justly, love kindly and walk humbly no matter where I go.

Dustine May, Director of Children's Sacraments and Faith Formation
I grew up in Marion, Ohio and graduated from Marion Catholic High School. I started my first two years of college at Walsh University, and graduated from Kent State University with a B.S. in Individual and Family Studies. My career began in Drug/Alcohol Prevention and Intervention. My husband, Dan, and I always volunteered at our parish and eventually I became the Youth Minister for a few parishes where we were living in Crawford County, Ohio. We moved to North Canton in 2008. Our 3 children, Grace, Maggie and Brady have all attended St. Paul School, and have moved on to attend North Canton Hoover HS. I started volunteering for St. Paul School in 2008, and then volunteered for the parish almost immediately as well. I began working at St. Paul Parish in May, 2016. I have a Graduate Certificate in Lay Ecclesial Leadership from Walsh University, and a Masters Degree in Applied Catholic Theology from University of Mary in Bismarck, ND. My favorite part of my job is helping families to feel connected to our parish, helping people to make our parish part of their home, and helping our parish family members grow in their relationships with God.

Michele Blate, Director of Adult Faith Formation and OCIA
“Perhaps you were born for such a time as this.”
Ester 4:14
I truly believe that each and every one of us was intentionally created by God for this time in history. How we choose to live the call that God has placed in our hearts can change the world and us.
St. Paul Parish has been my home since Kindergarten and I can honestly say that her parishioners have become like family. Growing up, our family’s life revolved around the church. My mother was a St. Paul School teacher, organist and CCD catechist while my father, a Jewish convert to the Catholic faith, was Scout Master for St. Paul Boy Scouts. My two brothers and I are second-generation St. Paul alumni (I have two nephews who also attended SPS) and I am very proud of the Catholic education I received.
Although active in Search youth ministry and campus ministry in my teens, I never thought of ministry as a career. After graduating with an MBA, I worked in healthcare finance for many years. LIFETEEN changed the course of my life in 2001 when it came to St. Paul and I was blessed to volunteer. Volunteering transitioned into a full-time job in ministry.
Since being hired at St. Paul, I have moved from Youth Minister to DRE for Children’s Ministries and now Director of Adult Faith Formation and R.C.I.A. I am blessed to have experienced ministry with every generation in our parish. Being a part of the ministry team here at St. Paul is one of the many blessings and challenges in my life and I wouldn’t trade it for anything. In 2019, I completed my MA in Theology at Walsh University.
When I am not serving at the parish, I enjoy reading and being creative. I am a colored pencil artist. I tell people “when God heard me sing, he handed me a pencil and said ‘my child, draw me a picture.”’ I have been drawing since I was 3yrs old. Its “happy place” and creativity is my connection with our Creator. My art work has been in a few local and national shows and published in two art books.
Most of all I treasure my role as “Aunt Michele.” God has blessed me with 5 awesome nieces and nephews (plus a niece-in-love and a nephew-in-love and counting) and 5 great-nieces and great-nephews. They are all the joy of my life!
“Be who God meant you to be and you will set the world on Fire."

Mike Boyea, Coordinator of High School Youth Ministry
Hello! My name is Mike Boyea, and I am honored and thrilled to be the new high school youth minister here at St. Paul! My family and I have been parishioners here for 9 years, and I am very excited to be serving in this new capacity within our home parish. I have over 30 years of experience in high school youth ministry programs, ranging from volunteering with them, leading them, implementing new youth groups, and sometimes even running youth ministry non-profit organizations. I am always amazed working with teens, and their desire to seek out truth. Watching teens take ownership of their faith and develop their personal relationship with Christ is so amazing! I am blessed with a beautiful, supportive wife of 24 years (Tammy), and we have two daughters - one in college and one in high school. I work full time during the day within cybersecurity at a large area healthcare system.
Please feel free to reach out to me, ask any questions, provide feedback, or to just chat.
We have a website - please go and read our latest news, calendar of events, sign up to help, or register your teen for youth group. https://sites.google.com/stpaulncanton.org/ymhome
Know that you and your family are in my prayers.
Peace in Christ,
Mike Boyea
