Tyler M. and Tessa L.: Tyler and Tessa, former SPS students, have both been named Canton Repository Teens of the Month for December. Read about their accomplishment here.

Austin A.: Austin, a former St. Paul student, was recently featured on the nationally televised Elite 11 quarterback competition. The current Hoover High School quarterback was chosen from hundreds of athletes nationwide to compete on the show and demonstrate his great skills. The program aired to millions on ESPN! Austin will also be attending Purdue University next year, where he will play for their football program. To read more about his appearance on the show, click here.

Kristin P. & Cassie M.: Kristin and Cassie competed at the State Finals of Power of the Pen (creative writing tournament) on May 27, at the College of Wooster. Of the original 2,000 eighth grade writers to start the season, Cassie placed in the top 100, while Kristin placed 7th in the state! Kristin is the highest ranked St. Paul School writer in school history!

Neya S.: Neya competed in the 84th Annual Canton Repository/Scripps Spelling Bee on March 5th; she finished 4th or 67 competitors from several counties. Neya won the St. Paul School Spelling during Catholic Schools' Week in Late January.

Kristin P. and Adam P.: These two outstanding St. Paul students (Adam is a graduate) were featured in an article in the Canton Repository for their volunteer projects completed last summer. The article can be read here.

Adam & Ben T.: These two young men have been donating their time to raise money for and awareness of breast cancer; they were recently (Aug. 27) featured on the WKYC Channel 3 News by Romona Robinson in her "Romona's Kids" segment. Carolyne V.: A natural athlete, an excellent Hoopster & an integral part of the last two Basketball championship wins for the Lady Spartans,
won the North Canton YMCA mile run & 2nd runners-up in the Hall of Fame race. To view full results, click here.
Neya S.: Upcoming Junior Tennis Star; won all three major regional USTA tournaments last month (July 2010).
Neya has already won Eleven Regional Tennis Championships & has had the career high ranking of Five in NorthEastOhio USTA rankings in the last three years.
She was also part of the last two Basketball championship wins for the Lady Spartans & runners-up in the School Spelling bee to a well-deserving winner Jacob V.

St. Paul's 2010 graduate Jacob V. competed in the National Scripps Spelling Bee in Washinton, D.C.. Jacob earned his spot by first winning the St. Paul School Spelling Bee in January and winning the Canton Repository Spelling Bee in April. St. Paul's students Krish D. (2010 graduate), Karan D. (2010 graduate), Alyssa P., Caitlin B., and Joesie S. "recently competed among 1,150 fifth-grade through 12th-grade science, technology, engineering and mathematics students from 317 schools at the annual State Science Day. [They] exhibited their scientific research and technology designs and took home top awards and scholarships." Their results were:
"Seventh-grader Caitlin B., excellent, for a project on chicken prices and cooking weight change; eighth-graders Karan D. and Krish D., excellent, for a team project on chord length and propellers; and seventh-graders Alyssa P. and Joesie S., excellent, for a team project on liquid and lipstick removal."

St. Paul's students Leslie F. (2010 graduate) and Kristin P. competed at the 2010 Power of the Pen State Finals at the College of Wooster. Both young writers competed at the highest level possible, earning spots with outstanding pieces at the District and Regional levels. Out of appx. 3500 writers at the seventh grade level, Kristin placed in the top 100, and of the appx. 3500 writers at the eighth grade level, Leslie placed in the top 20.

St. Paul's graduates Alexandria F. (2010 graduate) and Abby S., both of St. Thomas Aquinas High School, received the Eagle of the Cross Award. "The award is presented to teens in the six counties of Northeastern Ohio that comprise the Diocese of Youngstown who model Christian discipleship and exemplify the qualities of moral integrity, prayer, good works and Christian leadership in their school and parish communities." St. Paul's graduates Abby S. of St. Thomas Aquinas High School and Nick T. of Hoover High School were named the Canton Repository Teens of the Month for March, 2010.
