Papa's Page
Our "Papa," Pope Benedict XVI

Jesus, praying for all generations of believers, desired that all Christians may be one, as He and the Father are one. Beginning with the Apostle Peter, Jesus instituted a great ministry at the service of unity in His Church. That ministry is called the papacy, and it is the primary role of the Holy Father, the Pope. Christians of any age have been able to look to a Pope's official teachings (though not necessarily his mere opinions or actions) for a sure guide in understanding what it means to be a Christian. This page will have some very key elements of the current Pope's teachings. Please take advantage of this joyous gift of Christ to His Bride, the Church!

Apostolic Exhortation - The Sacrament of Love

This letter was written by the Holy Father as a summary of the most recent synod of bishops, which focused on the Eucharist and its celebration. A wonderful help to deepening our love for the Blessed Sacrament and the Mass.

Wednesday Audiences

The Wednesday Audience is a short lesson given by the Pope for the pilgrims (and therefore, members of the Church in general) who visit the Vatican. Beginning March 15th, 2006, the Pope began a series of teachings on the nature of the Church, beginning with Jesus, continuing with the Apostles' ministry, and following this line of teaching on through the Church Fathers of the first several centuries of Christianity. In July of 2008, he began a new series of lessons focused on St. Paul. These continued through the Year of St. Paul, ending June 29, 2009. The Pope then resumed his series on the saints before wrapping up in early 2011. He is now doing a series on Christian Prayer! Each lesson is about 2 pages in length, so if you keep up with them, they make for a small feast of faith each week!
