Matter is anything that takes up space and has mass.
Mass - the amount of matter in an object
There are three states of matter: solid, liquid and gas
Solid - particles vibrate, there is little energy present, they keep their shape, they keep their capacity (size)
Liquid - particles roll and slide over ad around eac other, there is some energy present, they take the shape of the container, they keep their capacity (size)
Gas - the particles move fast and freely, they have LOTS of energy, they fill the container they are in, the capacity changes to fill the given space.
